Acclaimed NPR Host of Car Talk, Tom Magliozzi Dies at 77

If you’ve ever taken a long road trip, you’ve more than likely stumbled upon the popular radio show on NPR called Car Talk. The humorous take on auto advice was a breath of fresh air for the once stiff-necked (and arguably still) NPR standard for programming back in 1977. Car Talk’s host Tom Magliozzi recently passed away at the age of 77-years-old. He hosted the show with his brother, with whom he graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Racking up over 4 million listeners each week while appearing on 600 different radio stations, Car Talk was a national success. Tom along with his brother were a laughable time for millions of stressed drivers and anxious commuters. Thanks for the laughs Tom! The NJ Car Coupon team were and will remain fans. We’ll leave you with a quote that sums up Tom’s personality rather well:

“I like to drive with the windows open. I mean, before you know it, you’re going to spend plenty of time sealed up in a box anyway, right?
